Builder / Carpenter — Landscaping

About the Role

If you’re a builder or carpenter who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in a quality finish, this could be your next move. Your skills in set-out, levels, framing and construction are a strong foundation for landscape work.

At Ace Landscapes, you’ll put those skills into retaining walls, decks and outdoor structures as part of a crew delivering complete landscapes. You’ll also contribute to planting, lawns, irrigation and other landscaping tasks alongside the team, with training in the areas that are new to you.

This is a full-time, permanent role in Franklin, Auckland.

What You’ll Bring

• A carpentry or building qualification, or at least three years of hands-on experience in building or carpentry.
• Confidence building retaining walls from set-out to finish, including footings, drainage and backfill.
• Confidence building decks and timber structures, including framing, levels, fixings and a clean finish.
• A full NZ Class 1 driver licence.
• The ability to drive a manual vehicle and confidently tow and reverse trailers.
• A willingness to learn the broader landscaping trade, contribute across the whole job, and work well with the crew.
• Pride in your workmanship and a commitment to taking responsibility and doing things right.

What We’ll Teach You

• Planting, lawns, irrigation and the soft landscaping side of the job.
• Operating compact machinery, such as 1.7 tonne diggers, Kanga, Toro, loaders and small bobcats.

Room to Grow

You’ll start as part of the crew, bringing your building skills while developing your landscaping capability. Once you’ve built those broader skills, there’s a clear path to leading a crew of your own.
